La Vigna, holiday villa in Provence: Aups & surroundings

From holiday house La Vigna you can walk (20 minutes) or bike (6 minutes) to the village of Aups. Two bikes are at your disposal.

Aups is a beautiful medieval village with Roman parts, nice shopping streets and twice a week a Provencal market. In wintertime Aups also is a lively village, with the truffle market as a highlight on Thursday morning, and the ‘jour de la Truffe’ as big event the end of January.

LaVigna-1Gorges du Verdon and the Lake de St. Croix

The Gorges du Verdon is one of the most famous canyons in Europe and it is certainly spectacular! Within half an hour you are at one of the most beautiful viewpoints in Europe, with the Lac de St. Croix in the distance. Its unbelievable blue-green colour has to be seen to be believed. You can swim, go in a pedalo, dive from the rocks and even tru hang-gliding, close by.

LaVigna-1Provencal villages, the ‘villages perchés’

You can visit the most beautiful Provencal villages nearby, with their markets, like Lorgues (20 min), Sillans la Cascade with its waterfalls (10 minutes), Cotignac (20 minutes), Villecroze, with its park & caves (10 minutes) and Tourtour (15 minutes), the ‘village in the sky’.

The Côte d’Azur, Nice, Cannes, Marseille, all reachable in 1.15 hours driving. You even can drive to the famous St. Remo market in Italy in 2 hours driving! And not to forget the beach, St. Maxime, Frejus, or la Ramatuelle near St. Tropez.

A driving range is 15 minutes by car in Salernes, where in a couple of years will be a 9 holes golfcourse. Many famous golfcourses in the vicinity (all about 1/1.5 minutes drive).
